HI! I'M KRISTIN, AND I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE.

If you’re reading this, then you’ve already taken the first step on your journey to healing. It takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for help.

Life doesn't always turn out the way we expect.  It’s not always rainbows and butterflies, dealing with everyday stressors, going into the depths of parenthood, falling into complacency with your career/relationships and often times, forgetting to take care of yourself. Hell, many times forgetting who YOU are.  Friendships fade due to your crazy schedule, your marriage loses the spark because you constantly have a child sleeping between you and your partner, and you wake up every day to face yet another difficult day you just want to get through.

You are a mom, dad, friend, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, coworker...but that's who you are for others.  Who are you for yourself

Life can be difficult.

Life can feel frustrating.

Life can get lonely.

But life  DOESN'T  have to be that way.

Do you resonate with the above?  If so, give me a shout.  I'd be honored to walk your journey with you.  You are not alone.

I welcome and celebrate all people in all bodies.  I am an LGBTQIA+ advocate and ally.

A BIT ABOUT THERAPY
(AND ME)

Guiding You On your Journey of Self-Healing

I like to think of myself as authentic, non-judgmental and laid back.  I may even go as far to say funny, but my kids would probably disagree.  I make mistakes, have my own anxieties and struggle like everyone else.

But that's what makes me real, and that's what I bring to the therapeutic relationship. Realness.

I don't believe that therapy has to be rigid, uptight and boring. Humor has a very important role and swearing is most definitely therapeutic.

The therapeutic foundation is based on the relationship between client and therapist.  It's my favorite part about what I do - building trust and having the privilege to walk this journey with you.  It is an absolute honor to work with people and be entrusted to listen to their story.

But I don't want to fool you or sugarcoat this process.  Therapy is hard work.  I'll  ask you to be open, honest and vulnerable. I'll ask you to trust the process.  My hope is you'll feel the safety of the judgement free zone and be youself - your true self.

I'm not here to give you advice or tell you what you're doing wrong.  I'm here to help guide and support you. I work to empower my clients, striving to bring awareness and positivity to their daily lives.  I want you to see the glass half full - which is achievable with therapy.

Now for the boring stuff:

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) and a level II  Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC II) in the state of Tennessee, as well as a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC).  I am trained in EMDR,  the Gottman Method for couples, and have completed 50 hours of training in mindfulness-based stress reduction.  I completed my B.A in Criminal Justice (I have a huge passion for working with First Responders which you can read more about here), and my M.A in Counseling Psychology.  I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults over the years within several settings to include: community mental health, psychiatric inpatient, the criminal justice system, and private practice.

I have had the privilege of working alongside clients since 2008, building relationships of acceptance and trust.

My counseling style is interactive and warm, keeping it real with humor and truth.  I provide psychoeducation to educate when needed, as well as work within the therapeutic modalities of EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy within a client centered approach.
